The INEOS chief has already worked hard to poach Omar Berrada as CEO from rivals Manchester City, while Dan Ashworth has been put on gardening leave by Newcastle ahead of him joining as sporting director. After such important decisions being made early on - albeit with Ashworth's not officially confirmed - Neville admits he "can't believe" the club will leave it late to decide on Ten Hag's future.

With Liverpool and Bayern seemingly in a straight shoot-out for Alonso's signature, Foot Mercato reports that the Spaniard has a "clear preference" on his next destination. The French outlet writes that Alonso would lean towards a return to Anfield as he is reportedly keen to take on the "immense challenge" of succeeding Klopp.

Philippe Coutinho is reluctant to be drawn on transfer gossip, but says you “never know” when it comes to a possible reunion with Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer. The Brazilian playmaker is among those to have seen a switch to Inter Miami speculated on. Such talk comes as no surprise given that former Barcelona stars Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are already on the books at Chase Stadium.

Coutinho has told SPORT when quizzed on the rumours linking him with a switch to join Messi in the United States: “I only think about the moment. Man City superstar Kevin De Bruyne could snub Saudi Arabia's interest in favour of a move to MLS after his contract runs out.

According to The Athletic, the Manchester City maestro is starting to think about what his future may entail when his contract expires in 2025 at the Etihad. The report adds that City would negate all emotional attachment to their superstar if an offer in the range of $115m (£90m) arrived from Saudi Arabia amid interest. However, De Bruyne himself has made his feelings clear on a potential transfer to the Middle East: he would rather move to MLS.

The former Liverpool and Barcelona star hinted that he could join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the future. Speaking to SPORT, Coutinho said, "I only think about the moment. Man City could allow Kevin De Bruyne to leave for Saudi Arabia

According to The Athletic, the reigning Premier League champions could allow their star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne to leave next summer who recently attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League.

The Cityzens reportedly would leap at an offer of around £90 million ($114m) regardless of his importance and quality, as he is an ageing player who is nearing the end of his contract at the Etihad.

Real Madrid close to signing Davies from Bayern

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid have already approached Bayern defender Alphonso Davies and the Canadian has given his word to the club that he would join them in the summer.

Los Blancos have convinced Davies not to extend his current contract in Germany, which runs until 2025, meaning that Bayern may have to cash in at the next opportunity.

Liverpool want De Zerbi to replace Klopp next season

According to journalist Emanuele Cammaroto (via Calcio Napoli), Liverpool are linked with a move for Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi as they him as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

Last month, the Reds boss revealed that he would part ways with the club at the end of the ongoing season to take a year-long sabbatical.
